One Great Season
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Some experts predicted an easy USC victory. But the Trojans met an Ohio State defense that probably even surprised Buckeyes fans Saturday night in Columbus.
USC, however, got a huge lift after converting a key third down midway through the final quarter and marched right down the field, eating up clock, as well as the OSU defense which had played so well for 50+ minutes prior to that point.
Freshman quarterback Matt Barkley, in just his second start, led the visitors on the game-winning touchdown drive, giving USC a 2-0 record and sending OSU -- and its fans -- to wonder what the Buckeyes need to do to win a big game on the national stage.
