Capital One Cup Standings Taking Shape
One Great Season
Now that all the NCAA fall sports championships are in the books, the Capital One Cup standings are starting to take shape.
Thanks to their BCS and FCS national championships, respectively, Auburn and Eastern Washington are tied for first place in the men's standings with 60 points. In the women's standings, Penn State is currently on top thanks to its fourth consecutive national volleyball championship.
Overall, 59 Division I schools earned points in either the men's or women's standings through the fall competition. Following the spring season, two schools (one men's, one women's) will be crowned Capital One Cup winners and be awarded a trophy and $200,000 scholarship for post-graduate education in July at the ESPYs.
