BCS Bowl Game Projections: Week 14

Picture Of The Coaches' Trophy

By JOHN P. WISE
One Great Season

I don't know why I call these projections. These are more like answers. Mark 'em down; here are the OGS picks for the BCS bowls:

Rose Bowl — Wisconsin beats TCU. I really do like TCU. I spent a week in Fort Worth last year, covered the Frogs' demolition of Utah, and left with a crush on Gary Patterson and his outstanding program. But Wisconsin is playing as well as anybody in the country right now, and I have to think one of the Badgers' three outstanding backs could eventually crack that tightwad TCU defense. This won't be sexy football, but it will be a classic struggle that you won't want to miss.

BCS Bowl Game Projections: Week 13

Picture Of The Coaches' Trophy

One Great Season

The BCS announced on Tuesday its list of eight teams being considered for at-large berths in the five elite bowl games. This, of course, is in addition to the teams still competing for automatic berths awarded for winning their conferences.

These teams are: TCU, Boise State, LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Nevada, Utah and Arizona.

Here are One Great Season's BCS bowl-game projections:

Rose Bowl — Wisconsin beats Stanford. This could be the best bowl game of them all, BCS or otherwise. The Badgers are on everyone's hot list right now and many of those same observers have loved Jim Harbaugh, Andrew Luck and

BCS Bowl Game Projections: Week 12

Poor TCU. After blasting Utah two weeks ago, many thought Gary Patterson's Horned Frogs were the top non-AQ squad.

But then TCU struggled in a narrow win over San Diego State on Saturday, and the three best teams the Horned Frogs have beaten this year all lost. Add to that the fact that TCU only has one game left, and Boise State has three, and you can't help but give the non-AQ nod to the Broncos.

Rose Bowl — Wisconsin beats Boise State. The Badgers put up 83 points without star running back John Clay on Saturday. I think Wisky's balance is just as impressive as Boise's. The Badgers get the win in a very competitive grandaddy of 'em all.

BCS Bowl Game Projections: Week 11

One Great Season

The BCS shuffle continues as five Top 10 teams have lost in the last two weeks. Here are my BCS bowl game projections, with several changes from last week's predictions:

Rose — TCU defeats Wisconsin. Saturday's tilt at Utah was just one game, but the Horned Frogs dominated a very good Utes team that plays well at home. TCU will be playing with a chip on its shoulder and could make Wisconsin look pretty bad.

Fiesta — Nebraska beats Pittsburgh. A loss and a near loss have made the Huskers look vulnerable the last few weeks, but seriously, how hard would it be for them to beat the Panthers?

Orange — Boise State beats Virginia Tech. The Broncos will indeed come east again and

BCS Bowl Game Projections & Early Predictions

Picture Of The Coaches' Trophy

One Great Season

Here's the first installment of the OGS BCS bowl game projections and early predictions:

Rose Bowl — Wisconsin defeats TCU. The trendy Badgers won't lose another game this season. And hopes for a perfect season at TCU end against a team that does nothing spectacular, other than win by playing good, solid, team football.

Fiesta Bowl — Oklahoma defeats Pittsburgh. Another team that hasn't been extra special is Oklahoma, but I think Bob Stoops can get the Sooners up one time to beat Nebraska in the Big 12 title game. And then OU should handle an underachieving Pitt team from a weak Big East conference.

Orange Bowl — Boise State defeats Virginia Tech. Chip firmly on shoulder, Boise will
