Catching Up: Here's What You Missed

By JOHN P. WISE
One Great Season
NEWARK, N.J. -- Leave it to me to complain about an early arrival into Newark Liberty Airport.
The red-eye from Portland got in about a half hour ahead of time, which means only one thing: a longer-than-expected wait for my already-delayed connecting flight to Pittsburgh.
After I land in Pittsburgh, I'll rent a car and try not to fall asleep at the wheel in the nearly three-hour trek for State College, Pa., where I'll be spending the week prepping for the Ohio State-Penn State tilt.
But if you're wondering whether you've missed some postings here recently, the short answer is yes, you probably have.
No worry, here's a recap for your viewing pleasure on a Monday morning (click any of the links below to waste time at work):
+ Gameday Gallery: USC at Oregon
+ In Costumes: USC at Oregon
+ Ducks Belong In Title-Game Talk After USC Blowout
+ New Gallery: Hot Celebrities Who Have Nothing To Do With College Football
Upcoming posts in the next day or two include an updated Hot Girls Of College Football gallery, results from a survey in which I asked other college football insiders to vote for the game's top current coaches and a Q&A with Florida strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti. I talked to him on Thursday, two days before Brandon Spikes' now infamous eye gouge of a Georgia player during Saturday's game.
Marotti said Spikes plays the game with great passion, adding that his Florida teammates feed off his energy. There may have been a little more than passion at play when Spikes was caught with his fingers in the cookie jar underneath the pile late in Florida's 41-17 win Saturday.
