This Week's College Football Picks: Dec. 4

This Week's College Football Picks

By JOHN P. WISE
One Great Season

While I was busy losing my shirt in Week 13, Adam showed some nice improvement from his Week 12 disaster. His 4-4 ATS was far more impressive than my 3-5 SU. OK, here are Saturday's guesses:

My picks
Last week: 3-5
Overall: 62-45
This week:
Pittsburgh over Cincinnati
USC over UCLA
Oregon over Oregon State
Auburn over South Carolina
Virginia Tech over Florida State
South Florida over Connecticut
Oklahoma over Nebraska

Adam's picks
Last week: 4-4
Overall: 48-53-6
Cincinnati +1
USC -7
Oregon -16
South Carolina +6
Florida State +4
Connecticut +1.5
Nebraska +4.5

Miscellaneous Bets
For those who didn't know, I was fake gambling on Ohio State and Alabama ATS this season. I'm hardly a savvy wagerer, but I told my boy Adam in the preaseason that I'd done some research and of the teams that had good ATS records the last few years, enjoyed stability on the coaching front and had big expectations for 2010, I'd pretend to bet the same amount on each of their games every week. Alabama and Ohio State were no-brainers this year. The results?

+ After 13 weeks, my Ohio State experiment finishes at +$470. The Buckeyes were 8-3-1 ATS this year. The Buckeyes await Sunday's bowl announcement, but it's expected OSU will be a slight favorite against Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl.
+ After 13 weeks, my Alabama experiment finishes at +$260. The Tide were 7-4-1 ATS this year. 'Bama also awaits Sunday's bowl announcement.
+ Through 12 OSU games, money-line wagerers had to lay $76,785 to win $1,100.
