Heisman Watch: Sept. 28

One Great Season

On Tuesdays here on OGS, we'll alternate an updated Heisman list with a new list of conference rankings.

Last week, OGS declared the PAC 10 the No. 2 league in the country behind the incumbent SEC. This week, let's take a look at some of the top individual performers.

1. Denard Robinson, QB, Michigan -- After two otherworldly performances to open the season, then a third that was only outstanding, Robinson got nicked early in Satuday's blowout of Bowling Green. Still, overall, his numbers are disgusting, and he's expected to return to start again against Indiana this week. The small-but-speedy sophomore will stay in the Heisman hunt for as long as he can avoid injuries.
2. Terrelle Pryor, QB, Ohio State -- Pryor has improved as a passer and as a decision-maker, and has remained a major threat with his feet. He even caught a touchdown pass in Saturday's thrashing of Eastern Michigan, a game in which he had a hand in six touchdowns.
3. Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State -- He's put up good numbers against Boise's most difficult opponents. What do you think he'll do against WAC foes?
4. Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama -- The reigning Heisman winner has returned to form after missing the Tide's first two games. Ingram bulldozed his way through Duke two weeks ago and was again dominant in Saturday's huge win over then-No. 10 Arkansas. A couple more performances like these and voters will forget that he missed two games.
5. Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU -- The only time you hear his name called is when he does something spectacular on special teams. Which is often. You don't hear his name on defense because opposing offenses don't throw to the guy he's covering. He's a legitimate Heisman candidate, Saturday's weak end-zone pose notwithstanding.

watch out for Andrew Luck after the Tree defeat the ducks this weekend in Oregon

Luck is nice and this weekend is certainly a great opportunity for him to earn some more Heisman cred. But I think Oregon is a little better, especially at Autzen.
